Shipping: I know shipping has gotten pricey. I can’t help that. I try to make it as cheap as possible with box size but I have had a couple of recent items damaged. Here is an unbelievable pair of architectural salvaged building figurines made of glazed terra cotta by the Atlantic Terra Cotta Company (1914-1941). They depict 2 stylized classic Art Deco bare breasted female forms, one carrying a water or wine jug and the other carrying a pot with smoke billowing out and above her head. They are about 25″ tall 8″ wide and about 4.5″ deep. They are stamped Atlantic on the bottom of each and are quite heavy. They are glazed an off white color with blue black hair cascading down.They are in excellent vintage condition with some flaws considering their use and age. One has had a couple tiny nicks and a couple of filled in nicks along with a repaired jug handle, the other looks fine, both are crazed. They may have some discolorations in small areas and still some dust on them. I don’t know the history of what building these came off or where but they are simply, amazing.These were manufactured to go onto buildings as the terra cotta was cheaper and lighter than stone. They were awarded the contract for the Woolworth building in NYC and it called for 7500 tons of terra cotta. They made architectural pieces for hundreds of buildings in the early 20th century. The company was located in Perth, NJ and the clay was collected from Perth Amboy to around Trenton. They were one of the largest terra cotta companies in the US. They also made small pieces like humidors.These are just stunning and would make some Art Deco buff very happy. One is just over 22 lbs and the other just over 21 pounds. They will be professionally packed, insured and shipped ground service by my shipper. Items I sell are not new. They have been used so do not expect mint condition unless otherwise noted.
